Evamyth's Eggless, Milkless, Butterless Spice Cake

Evamyth says: "I found this recipe in the newspaper twenty years ago. I was impressed by the author's stories about life in the homefront during WWII so I decided to try this recipe. It was very good even without the allspice."

Mamanags says: "I only found Evamyth's recipe at http://www.recipezaar.com/ yesterday and alas, not twenty years ago. Boy, this is one recipe that consistently got great reviews. Haven't tried it myself but just put it here if anybody wants to have a go at it. The name is a mouthful though, can be a tongue twister. If you like, top the cake with Easy Cream Cheese Frosting.
